Okay, if I ever break my writer's block and write anything ever again (depression is just the worst) I'm going to treat Taka, from Ace Attorney, as a cooper's hawk.

(I'm pretty sure he's not a specific species, but he's about the right size for a cooper's, and the coloring is more or less on point, and cooper's hawks, apart from being small, are kind of visually the most hawky hawk you can think of, so.)

(yes okay this is a weird thing to fixate on)

(since hawks can't physically DO a lot of the stuff Taka does and generally do not steal updated autopsy reports from recalcitrant police detectives at their handler's signal BUT - - - even SO - !)

Cooper's hawk is a great characterization! Very hawky hawks indeed. The thing I remember most about them from rehab is we had to cover their containers with towels and be very careful nabbing them for treatment - very high strung and tended to batter themselves against the cage.
