Continuing on with Let's Write Up Notes On Transformers Animated.
Let's see...
Okay.
Home is Where the Spark Is" - ...Wow, the IMDB episode descriptions are pretty confused. What about the factory space said “old auto parts store” to whoever wrote this? It has an assembly line!
Oh well.
The best bits about this episode are Prowl's nature watching and rhapsodic description of his observations and Sari's determination to do all the things FRIENDS do together with her new FRIENDS while pretending she is not in a froth of wild excitement because she has never had FRIENDS before.
Also Sari bringing her dd tea, and their subsequent little scene together. 'naw!
Also Megatron is delicious. I enjoy how much of a threat he can even trapped in a lab as a disembodied head.
Total Meltdown I still love that Meltdown/Prometheus Black gets the “I'll show them! I'll show them all!” supervillian origin story.
...the whole bit about Bumblebee having a complex about being small is, unfortunately, not actually very interesting. Possibly because it's the most boringly obvious place to take having a character who is signifcantly smaller than the other characters (although in this version, Prowl, despite being taller, could very well have less mass). Bah, give me a bantam weight and smug about it minibot any day.
Love the chase through the tower, though.
Also the animation on Black is just gorgeous. I dig the moving ripples. Those look tricky to track through movement.
Blast from the Past - DINOBOTS. Hahahaha oooooohboy that is some eighties dino anatomy on the itnial exhibit. What is even up with Swoop's wings.
...I'm sorry. I. I notice these things.
Doesn't really mater though, Grimlock is such a hilarious doll in this continuity. I love how he brushes off Megatron's attempt to take command of the group! Nonsense! “Me Grimlock leader!” if only more people had the courage of your convictions, Grimlock.
Also Prowl is the squashiest marshmellow. (“People say you have a heart of ice, but that's only half right. You have a heart of ice... cream!”) And good golly Swoop's Robot Mode design is aaaaamaaaaaazing! So regal! So lovely! Mmmyesgood.
Also, here starts the lengthy subplot about Megatron's manipulation of Professor Sumdac, which I adore for so many reasons. *shivers* Id buttons. Possibly somewhat worrying id buttons.
