We went on a walk this morning, and saw a green heron in the pond in the woods! It was sitting on a half submerged log, so its bright yellow feet were like a beacon.

Green herons are so much fun - I need to get out by the reservoir and go for a walk one of these days, I haven't seen one in a long time, although the great blues fly over regularly.

I see great blues in their blue and white morphs all the time too! They're less choosy about where they hang out than the green herons, I think.
