*hugs* Thanks. I wouldn't have previously put it past this professor, who is kind of. Kind of. He tries way too hard to be cool, when, I'm sorry, you have a PhD in history, you might as well embrace the geek. And that kind of trying to be cool rarely goes good places. But I wasn't expecting it because he was showing a documentary, and I wasn't braced for any comments, and I hadn't run across Layfette's letters before, so I was still in that stage of dawning recognition and fond amusement as I listened to some actor read his effusive, flirty, You're So Wonderful And Your Wife Is Wonderful And My Wife Thinks So Too And I Couldn't Possibly Be Jealous Because I'd Love To Throw Myself At Your Feet So I Know Just How She Feels, Please Come Visit, Everyone Here Will Love You Almost As Much As We Do letter.

So I mean. I'd just started smiling to myself and then - *shrugs*
