ALL the claustrophobic gothic (where the gothic is a literary form/movement that deals with oppression by making it into a really intense emotional encounter or series there-of with, of course, power struggles and dramatic landscapes everywhere) horror buttons at once. ALL of them.
... okay really only most of them but that's still an emotional shock. Drat, now I want to write Troll gothic novels: I bet they're a lowblood form and tend to center on moirallegiance.
Yeah, I can see how that'd happen. At the moment my feelings about her are one of those horrible pull tug things. ...Like a much more intense version of my confused desire to both beat Di with a slipper and hug her until all the pain and screwed up survival mechanisms go away.
(In the actual SCENE though I just identified so strongly with Tavros that um. Yeah. I have a THING about those kinds of judgement and self determination issues.)
Vriska is a really pivotal character (almost all of the pivotal characters are female in Homestuck, actually, which is kind of interesting), and she gets a lot of development. I won't spoil anything but she's definitely a complex character with a lot of depth that doesn't really excuse her flaws, which is quite interesting. Also, I feel, one of the better characters in the comic in terms of actually being ALIEN.
Yay! Yeeeeeeah, I am at the beggining of Act Five Section Two now and I am definitely noticing that she seems to be a hinge for the plot. Which is fascinating in a couple of different ways.
Yeah, Vriska is actually a really interesting character, especially in light of troll society and how messed up it is. She talks about the whole deal with Tavros later on and it...really changed my view of what was going through her head in those scenes.

...Of course, I am only halfway through both texts, but: "Teach me the fortitude I have forgot." They keep each other steeeeeeeeeady!

Vriska is kind of a scary and intense character a lot of the time, although my feelings on her have waffled a lot.
