“So, what do you think?” Mickle asked Theo as they walked away from the daguerreotype studio arm in arm.
“It was interesting,” he answered, and let her pull him closer, leaned the little way in to touch his head to hers. "But not very flexible. There’s a lot it can't do yet.”
Mickle grinned. “So I shouldn’t burgle you an apparatus, then?”
He laughed, nervously, searching her face. “That was a joke…?”
“Theo, when have I ever got you a present you didn’t want?” She laughed, and slid her arm from his to pull him into a run, down the street together.
