Homestuck UPDATE

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh.

I love a lot of things here! (John, love, please stop talking. Please.) I love how Roxy, who's been aggressively soldiering on through all kinds of isolation and frustration for years and years just finds her momentum completely cut dead once she survived to reach her goal. We've been shown before that Roxy is deeply depressed and her big coping mechanism is basically "Come on Roxy, you can't quit now. You have things to do!"

Now that's gone. And I LOVE that it knocks her flat. Because it's a big thing to hit a point you hadn't even expected to survive to! We're shown repeatedly that Roxy doesn't really think any of this will give her what she wants, that she has more doubt than hope, that what she runs on is really her social connections - and now those are gone. I like that she doesn't have an immediate strategy for handling it, that her first response is a sort of very passive suicidal ideation - the depressive thinking she's displayed since her first appearence, when she was using alcohol to fuzzy up the edges and put her to sleep.

And Terezi! Aaaaaaaah, Terezi! Visually coded both as a badass wounded warrior and as the accusing seer, which of course she is both and - *HANDS*

Terezi is so interesting, and I love her so much, and and and and

I am excite.
