Also, this is a stupid problem to have but my bed is covered in library books and I am having trouble figuring out how to fix it so I can get under the covers.

Been there, done that. Ended up tucking the books in on the couch.

That works! I finally packed them back into the tote I used to carry them out of the library in the first place and put it against the end of the bed to keep it upright.
