(no subject)

So, over the course of various study breaks in the last few days I have caught up with Homestuck.

...And now I really want fic about Meenah dragging Aranea along with her for dungeon crawling. No, Serks, we cannot move onto the next stage in the quest, we have to get up to that teeny tiny ledge guarded by ogres because there is sure to be a treasure chest back there. And she needs it. She needs it. Come on, come on, come on, time for a plan! A PLAN.

And Aranea is clinging to Meenah so she doesn't get overly excited and bounce off without the plan and get them both killed while she does, in fact, attempt to come up with a plan for traversing the massive gap because she is the puzzle solver and healer in this equation and Meenah is the tank. And the heavy firepower. Luckily, the clinging always works because Meenah, even though she spends a lot of time protesting the influence Aranea has over her... ... ...Doesn't actually resist.

(I figure the only reason Aranea ever gets anything done is that she does it with/for other people. Otherwise she kind of just defaults to working on weird useless side projects that tickle her sense of humor but that she only ever bothers to complete to try out on Meenah her friends and obsessively reading everything she can keep her appallingly prim little talons on. Oh, and telling stories to various flora that can't run away. And walls. I wonder if pre-scratch Troll culture has Speech or Debate teams or formal training in declamation? I can see Aranea practicing her body language and vocal control on a wall while she waits for it to be her session.)
