Sep. 17th, 2012 09:29 pmWell.
Today was a mixed bag. Some extremely good things (demonstrated to my undergrads how this whole Reading Primary Sources song and dance goes, had a lovely session of the Lowest Pressure Ever class, got to walk in a warm rain with a functioning umbrella, found and touched a toad), some middling things (mandatory student organization budget training at a time slot where I'm at a seriously low energy ebb), and a couple of horrible things (a fellow grad student starting to spout homophobic ideas before being shut down by another grad student, a particularly unpleasant street harrassment incident).
On the balance I think it turned out to be a good day, but I don't want to be anywhere NEAR Mr. "The Best Christian Witness Is One On One" at the moment.
I do hate it when people assume that I'm straight and must therefore agree with them that queer characters on television shows are "pushing it on you." Whatever that actually means.
I also hate it when men shout at me from cars.
But I like teaching! And friendly conversation! And amphibians!
