Mar. 9th, 2018 09:54 pmToday is the fifty first anniversary of the first broadcast of the Star Trek: TOS episode "Devil in the Dark," in which the crew of the Enterprise meet a horta.
It was the first TOS episode I ever saw. It's also the episode I've watched the most: I nearly wore out the tape on our VHS copy. If I want to I can play large chunks of the story out in my head, pictures and sound arcs of paraphrased narration to patch over the bits that don't matter to me quite as much emotionally.
Maybe I'll rewatch it tomorrow.
