(no subject)

So. My younger brother has, via strategems that consist mostly of - - - looking at me really hopefully, like. Like. I don't know, a kitten or something, it's other brother who's totally totally a puppy, anyway. Has gotten me to read Homestuck. This was a thing done against my better judgement. And drat it, now I'm kind of hooked and I haven't even got to trolls. Arrrrgh oh well. I like making said brother happy.

...That's also how I wound up watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. And partly why I'm periodically playing Final Fantasy XIII (I watched him play to make him happy and because I like FF games, and then there was Lightning and Sazh and arrrrrgh I was doomed I cannot resist a practical, stoic soldier who is secretly so angry she can barely cope on a mission to save her sibling and a sardonic, kindly man quietly grieving for his son whom he still hopes to save omigoooooooosh I want them to be BFF! ...Everyone else is awesome too, but they don't come in until slightly later. I was already hooked).

And um. Let's see. Mom made me watch Sherlock (I don't like it). And Community (It makes me happy). And then there's Pysch, which is actually kind of bland on the plot level, I personally think, but has Dule Hill in a major role and is therefore hypnotic. I could watch him all day.

ohmigoshohmigoshohmigosh! Aaaaaah I love Sweetheart and Unity! They are the mad science queer women who room together and are partners and bffs and have hilarious dominance dynamics and read each other bad porn and love each other to bits and trade anecdotes about the hot guys they got involved with while they were on separate missions and share their Wow I Did Not Even Know That Turned Me On sexuality crises and call each other whenever they're freaked out and rescue each other and encourage each other to stand up for themselves pairing of my soul omigosh!

Oh, Sweetheart. Oh, Unity.

Um. For those who aren't familiar with the comic, Sweetheart is the fluffy sapient dog, and Unity is, of course, the zombie in the cute hoodie.

I really mean it about the ticker tape.

Naming yourself in multiple stages

I started calling myself Nanny Goat when I was about six. I'm not sure if I did because I realized that "Nanny" is an old fashioned diminutive of my full name, or just because I like goats. (I really like goats.) It could have been both together: I was an odd child. Of course, when I first got online I was sixteen, which explains why I seem to be stuck spelling it "Nanni".

I'm used to it by now. I even think my signature with my nickname is a lot prettier than my signature with my long name.

(Of course, the full nickname is twice as long as my actual name but sssssssh.)
